Kalyan is an experienced commercial litigator with broad experience across commercial litigation, commercial transactions, property disputes, directors’ and shareholders’ disputes, insolvency and building and construction matters. With a background in accounting, he brings a commercially focused approach to risk assessment, contractual issues and dispute resolution for individuals, small to medium enterprises and corporate/business clients.
Kalyan provides clear, practical and strategically considered advice. He places particular emphasis on early identification of key issues, careful case planning, and achieving timely and cost-effective outcomes through negotiation, mediation, or, where necessary formal court proceedings.
Before entering the legal profession, Kalyan trained in accounting and completed a Bachelor of Accounting with Distinction in 2012. He later completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Sydney in 2020 and a Master of Laws in 2022.
Kalyan is fluent in Nepali and is actively involved in the Nepalese community in Australia. He currently serves as National Secretary of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) from 2025 and previously served as Secretary for New South Wales from 2023 to 2025.
His combined legal and financial experience enables him to provide practical, commercially informed advice throughout the life cycle of a matter from initial engagement through to resolution.
