Paul Sarvaas


Paul is a founding principal of Sarvaas Ciappara and has been in practice for over 26 years. He gained experience at Minter Ellison in Adelaide and at Watson Mangioni in Sydney, including 3 years as a partner of that firm.

Paul has practised exclusively as a litigation and regulatory specialist, and has successfully undertaken a number of substantial contract, trade practices, corporations law, construction, property and insolvency matters. He acts for both large and small corporations and has acted for clients in all of the Court jurisdictions in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

In 1989-1990 Paul was an associate to Hon. Chief Justice King of the Supreme Court of South Australia.

Paul has also successfully represented many directors and company officers in relation to investigations and proceedings undertaken by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and represented a number of high profile persons at the HIH Royal Commission.

Paul provides strategic advice in relation to Domain Names, and holds a number of specialist collections following the release of new top level domains in 2014.

Charles Ciappara


Charles specialises in commercial litigation and regulatory matters and has been in practice for over 20 years.

Prior to establishing Sarvaas Ciappara, Charles worked at national law firm, Dibbs Abbott Stillman and a Sydney boutique law firm.

Charles has expertise in a wide range of areas including corporations law disputes, directors duties, contract disputes, economic loss claims, trade practices law, employment law, property related matters and building and construction disputes.

He has represented large corporations in complex litigation involving multi million dollar claims as well as individuals and family owned businesses.

Charles has appeared for directors and executives before commissions of inquiry (including the HIH Royal Commission) and other official investigations. He advises and represents clients who are under investigation by ASIC and APRA.

Charles provides strategic and commercially focussed advice. He is committed to assisting clients achieve their objectives and goals.

Victor Zhu


Victor is an experienced commercial dispute resolution lawyer and has acted on a wide variety of litigation matters including commercial disputes, engineering, insolvency, property, insurance, strata and debt recovery.
Victor provides advice and representation in commercial disputes and has appeared in the Supreme Court of NSW, the Federal Court of Australia, the District and Local Courts as well as various tribunals and at arbitration. 
Victor is passionate about providing exceptional client service and he is committed to achieving the most practical and commercially viable outcomes for his clients.  
Prior to joining Sarvaas Ciappara, Victor worked at a multinational professional services firm advising on tax law matters and a boutique law firm gaining commercial law and transactional experience.
Victor holds a Bachelors of Economics and Bachelors of Laws from the Australian National University.

Serena Tong


Serena practices in the area of commercial litigation and has experience in contractual disputes, property litigation, levy recovery, bankruptcy and insolvency.  

She works with a wide range of clients, from private individuals to owners corporations and regularly represents clients in the Local Court, District Court and Supreme Court of New South Wales as well as the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

Rebecca Horne


Rebecca joined Sarvaas Ciappara Lawyers as a paralegal in May 2017. Rebecca was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in February 2018. Rebecca obtained her law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 2017. 

Rebecca has experience working across a number of areas of law including commercial litigation, recoveries, insolvency and bankruptcy.
